Héritiers du Comte Macon-Villages
Organic/Biodynamic, 25 Year Old Vines, native yeasts. 100% Chardonnay. Founded in 1999 by Dominique Lafon, Héritiers du Comte Lafon is his trailblazing, biodynamic Mâconnais domaine. These world-class Chardonnays display what this magical region is capable of producing. Historically, the Mâconnais was known for industrially farmed, volume-driven wines. Dominique was the first Cote d’Or producer to invest in the immense potential hidden in those rolling hills by buying higher altitude, old vine parcels with the intent of letting this beautiful terroir (perhaps the most picturesque wine region in the world) reach its full potential. He started by converting all of the vineyards to biodynamic farming – the Lafon way! Early on, he strived to preserve the fruit and minerality of the region by using only larger, neutral wood for the aging of the wines. His belief and passion for the region has made Héritiers a towering beacon for fine wine in the previously overlooked Chardonnay mecca. In 2006, he appointed longtime apprentice Caroline Gon as head winemaker of the domaine. Under her tireless and inspired leadership, the gospel of quality Mâconnais is spreading far and wide, with a clear and definitive voice. “

Can Sumoi Ancestral Sumoll
100% Sumoll. Grapes from outlying Capella plot of the estate (the most remote). The soils here are primarily clay and limestone and very compact. Vineyards are farmed organically with biodynamic practices in place. Can Sumoi is the newest project from Pepe Raventós and Francesc Escala – a found treasure in the mountains of the Baix Penedès where they realize their vision and dreams in the remarkable landscape and passion for natural wines. Can Sumoi is an agricultural farm dating to 1645, located in Massís del Montmell, 600 meters above sea level. The estate has 400 hectares of land of which 30 are vineyards planted with Parellada, Xarel.lo and Sumoll; the rest is forest of oak, white pines, tall oaks and old stone walls that surround the winery and three farmhouses from the end of the 17th century, where wine used to be made. This PÉT-NAT is made in the traditional method with no additives, stabilization or filtration. Floral with super fresh black fruit aromas and flavors that are accented by saltiness and a slight (but pleasant) bitter note. Bone dry and the ultimate lightweight wine with gentle fizz and a fresh mushroom like funk.

Vina Maitia Aupa Pipeno Rojo
Glou Glou!! Pipeño is the traditional method of winemaking in Chile, which dates back to the late 16th century. The Aupa Pipeño from Viña Maitia is an old school blend of 80% País (aka Mission/Listan Negro/Criolla Grande) and 20% Carignan from a 10 hectare, 120-year-old, dry farmed vineyard in the Maule Valley of Chile. This valley benefits from a Mediterranean-like climate where high temperatures in the summer are cooled by the breeze from the Humboldt Current in the Pacific Ocean. Pipeño is a very rustic wine, especially when produced with País, a sacramental grape which was the first grape planted in the Americas, brought here by the Spanish. The País grapes are removed from the clusters manually by being hit over a zaranda, a metal grid that acts as destemmer and press, to a traditional concrete vat, where a natural yeast fermentation takes place. The Carignan is fermented with whole clusters, and then the blend is aged briefly in concrete before bottling into flint glass at a 12.9% ABV with small amounts of sulfur. 1.5 liter MAGS & regular bottles available.

Sleight Of Hand Renegade Red
The Renegade Wine Co. is very excited to release the newest Renegade Wine Co. Red Wine. It is 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Malbec, and 10% Merlot. It certainly drinks like a Washington State Cabernet based blend, with lots of red and black fruits, scents of loamy minerality, and fine-grained tannins that are matched with balanced acidity. Like all the Renegade wines, this drinks as well as something twice as expensive. This is certainly a candidate to buy by the case! Don’t hesitate, be a Renegade! “The style at Sleight of Hand, under the guidance of Trey Busch, Jerry Solomon, and Keith Johnson, has changed dramatically over the past 4-5 years and the wines show more finesse, elegance, and purity today, without sacrificing on fruit or texture. These are brilliant wines, and I certainly include this estate in the top handful of estates in Washington today.” JEB DUNNUCK, Jebdunnuck.com april 2019
