Biodynamic, harvested by hand & fermented in concrete with indigenous yeasts! Les Tètes is a small wine project run collaboratively by 4 friends, Nicolas, Philippe, Baptiste, and Vivien. They are located in the village of Le Pressoir in Touraine Azay-le-Rideau in the Loire Valley. Les Tètes is focused on bringing fresh and fruity competitively-priced wines that are grown organically and fermented with native yeasts and with only minimal sulfur added. In their own words, “Les Tétes is about friendship, and wines you drink with friends.” Les Tètes are produced at Le Pressoir, in the village of Panzoult. The vineyards are near Honoré de Balzac’s birthplace and Alexander Calder’s workshop, in the unspoiled landscape surrounding Château de Rigny-Ussé. The grapes of “Les Tètes Au Bois Dormant” (sparkling rosé and white) come directly from the domain of Château de Rigny-Ussé “Les Parcelles” by Les Tètes are produced in very small quantities, on parcels (less then one hectar) among the most select AOC (Appellation d’Origine Controllée/controlled designation of origin) in Touraine.

Dom. Dubost Tracot Beaujolais Blanc 2016

Biodynamic, hand-picked grapes.9 year old Chardonnay vines from a single parcel l’Hermitage on rolling slopes of silt, clay, and sand soils. 5% Viognier. Fruit forward, aromas of white fruit, peach, apricot, and kiwi. Domaine Dubost is a 4th generation estate which has been in the hands of Jean-Paul Dubost since the mid-nineties. They farm about 19 hectares, nine of which are from the village appellation. The rest of the land is split between Brouilly, Moulin à Vent, Morgon, and a little in Regnié. He has been transitioning to biodynamics since 2005 and ferments all of the wines with natural yeasts. The crus are made without sulfur or other additions. The Moulin à Vent and Fleurie plots are nurtured biodynamically. It is certainly worth noting that while natural yeasts are used for the fermentation of all of the wines, the Fleurie and Moulin à Vent are made with an extremely minimalist approach. The wines are matured for about 10 months in 500 L casks, then bottled without fining, filtration, chapitalization, or acidification. The Beaujolais Villages and the Brouilly are fermented in concrete, stabilized with SO2 and passed through a light filtration. Jean-Paul is currently training his two young sons, Jeoffrey and Corentin, about natural wine hoping that one day they take over the family estate, which is now 21 ha.

Preisinger Puszta Libre 2017

Organic and Biodynamic 70% Zweigelt, 30% St. Laurent This wine is light and smooth, with pretty red and blue fruit on the nose and palate, along with a hint of crushed violets. Best served chilled. Claus Preisinger was born in 1980 in Eisenstadt. After attending a viticultural high school in Klosterneuburg, he gained experience abroad working in Californian vineyards, and then as a winemaker with Hans & Anita Nittnaus for the next three years. He simultaneously introduced his own first wines in 2002. In 2004 he was accepted into the renowned “Pannobile” association of wineries, and then in 2006 he converted his vineyards to biodynamic winegrowing. Claus Preisinger has obtained several accolades and top scores from wine publications. He processes grapes from around 40 ha on the north shore of Lake Neusiedl. Claus has been using ambient yeasts since 2002 as well as little to no sulfites. The preisinger wines are certified biodynamic, which Claus takes very seriously. His commitment to the environment and non-interventional winemaking shines through in the superior wines he produces.

Handpicked Organic Manual selection of bunches on the sorting table. Complete stalk removal followed by gentle crushing. Spontaneous co-fermentation in open thread tanks with gentle pigeage (punch down) and pumping over. Ageing in cement tanks. Blend of traditional Douro grapes varieties, mainly Tinta Barroca, but also Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional.
