Domaine Rolet Cremant du Jura Rosé
45% Trousseau, 29% Poulsard, 26% Savagnin from 30+ year old vines. It was Désiré Rolet who in 1942 began making wine in the small region of the Jura in eastern France. In 1958, his 4 children all decided to stay in the family business and took over from their father. Since that time the domaine has rsien in prominence in the region and acquired prime old vine vineyards in the appellations of Arbois and Côtes du Jura. No herbicides or pesticides are ever used and the soils are constantly ploughed – creating beautiful, healthy vineyards. Creamy pink/orange hue, with red currant, pommegranate, brisk cherry, streaming down toa salted, snappy finish.

Jakob Schneider Riesling Kabinett
1 liter bottle. The Schneider family has been in the wine trade since 1575. Now the Schneiders cultivate 45 hectares, including 19 of their own, in some of the very best sites of the geologically diverse village Niederhausen. Over 52 different soil types can be found here, mostly based on volcanic rock and slate. This year it’s (Niederhäuser) Pfaffenstein and Rosenberg plus Norheimer Kirschheck, and it’s a gracious elegant vintage with an edge of balsam-fir and oolong leafiness; a sweet ginger note in a wine that isn’t very sweet. We even have some phenolic texture to contend with. When has this wine not over-delivered?” Terry Theise

Dusi Vineyards Model M
Three generations after Janell Dusi’s great-grandparents first planted the land to Zinfandel; she is continuing the legacy of one of the area’s most well-loved vineyards, and taking ten percent of the production off the Dante Dusi Vineyard to create J Dusi Wines. The vineyard has been sought after by many fine wineries such as: Turley, Four Vines, Cypher, Tobin James, and Grey Wolf. Named after their favorite tractor (yes, really) this budget friendly blend hugely over delivers on price. 50% Zinfandel, 40% Merlot, and 10% Syrah combine forces to push out aromas of black cherry and plum. The palate is awash in deep jammy flavors of blackberry and overripe plums, which finishes ahead of rich baking spices and herbs. Crazy value!

Kobal Blaufrankisch
The vineyards of Kobal spread out over the finest wine-growing sites on the hill slopes in wine region Bizeljsko-Sremic of Posavje, Slovenia. The area is a narrow strip along the northern bank of the Sava River, protected by the mountains from the harsh north winds and home to perhaps the best wine growing conditions in the region. Kobal wines come from the best vineyard sites owned by the Kobal family, from local grape varietals. All grapes are farmed in an environmentally friendly manner. This 100% Blaufränkisch comes from the private family vineyards of Bojan Kobal. The wine is fermented with native yeasts, is unfiltered and given a low dose of sulfur right before bottling. A delightful, multi-layered, and elegant expression of the Blaufränkisch grape full of spicy dark fruit flavors, mouth-coating tannins and a refreshing acidity.

Alvear Pedro Ximénez Solera 1927
Alvear was founded in 1729 and remains under the control of the same family. They own 307 acres of vineyards in the Montilla-Moriles appellation. Anyone who visits the area recognizes the incredible white soils, which are dominated by chalk/limestone and the key to the great acids these products possess. The NV Pedro Ximenez Solera 1927 is non-vintage, but does have some 1927 material in it. This is totally dark brown/amber with notes of figs, toffee, caramel syrup, molasses and coffee. It is dense, super sweet, intense, rich and an amazingly, unctuously textured, thick beverage to consume slowly and introspectively after a meal. Drink now through 2050, or even longer.
