On Friday, October 10th we are hosting a benefit for Brian Canipelli’s children. There will be a silent auction filled with amazing donations from our closest industry peers, delicious wines by the glass, beer, some small bites and lots and lots of memories.

On February 6th 2025 our community lost one of its brightest stars, Brian Canipelli Chef and owner of Cucina 24 & Contrada. Brian was a titan of warmth and generosity and represented everything we love and cherish about the food and beverage industry. We are grateful to have been able to work so closely with him for many years and will always appreciate his support of Appalachian Vintner, his conversation and his sense of humor. Brian was easy to be around but always left you with tiny nuggets of his deep knowledge of hospitality.

As a community losing someone as wonderful and talented as Brian was painful for us all, but for his children the loss is immeasurable. When Brian passed away he not only left his amazing restaurant and staff he more importantly left behind 3 beautiful children. They are obviously beyond devastated to have lost their father. Brian was not only a loving parent but also a financial pilar for his children’s household. With the holidays fast approaching, our hope is to be able to raise some capital to provide these children with some financial support during what is normally a joyous time of year but will no doubt be extremely difficult as it is their first without their father.
