POSTPONED! Sake Tasting w/ Lexington Glassworks Handblown Sake Sets
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED, NEW DATE TBA!
酒 Appalachian Vintner has been home to the largest premium Sake selection in the area, for years and years. We love Sake! Now we have the opportunity to share it with you, our very best clients.
One of the most traditional aspects of sake service is the ceremony and one of the most important parts of this ceremony are the vessels used to serve Sake. Tokkuri which is the flask that holds the Sake and ochoko, the small cups used to drink the Sake are made in many different shapes and materials. Personally we find glass to be the most satisfying due to the visual aspect of admiring the liquid, to the inert qualities and strength of glass, allowing the sake to express the aromatics and flavors without imparting any other characteristics.
The folks at Lexington Glassworks produce some very fine pieces of art in their studio downtown, including drinking vessels. We currently sell their rocks glasses and use them regularly at home as well, the exquisite shape and texture are very satisfying in the hand. After having a few conversations about possibly working together on a new project, these Sake sets made perfect sense. We knew their dedication to detail and craftsmanship would fit perfectly along with our own ethos. These Sake sets are ornate but very very functional and durable as well! This is a great opportunity to get the Sake lover in your life (or yourself) an amazing locally made piece of functional art. The holidays are coming up quickly!!
