Burgenland is made up of 4 “sub-areas” and covers 19,215 hectares, which is about 48,000 acres. The dominating geographical influence here is the Neusiedler Lake (Neusiedlersee), and the 4 subdivided areas are called Southern Burgenland (Südburgenland), Central Burgenland (Mittelburgenland), Neusiedler Lake (Neusiedlersee) and the Neusiedler Lake Highlands (Neusiedlersee-Hügelland). Our Grüner Veltliner shows a brillant white gold colour with green reflexions. In the nose it convinces with fine aromas of fresh apples and a fine minerality. On the palate it shows fruity spiciness together with a fine acidity

Czech Republic, Moravia. Pinot Noir/Zweigelt Vinification Method: Grapes are hand harvested and destemmed. The wine is fermented in 20-year-old 1500-liter open topped oak vats for about 20 days with indigenous yeasts, with occasional remontage. It then goes into 20-year-old 1000-liter oak barrels for about 18 months, where battonage is performed. The wine is bottled without fining or filtering and gets a very small dose of sulfur at bottling. Light to medium body red that exudes of violet, black & white pepper. Bright in texture and acidity .Silky smooth tannins, and notes of red cherries.
Edoardo Sderci La Casina Girasole 2015
95% Sangiovese 5% Canaiolo, Colorino. Il Palazzino farm, owned by Alessandro and Andrea Sderci, is located in Monti in Chianti, 20 km northeast of Siena, in the southern part of Chianti Classico Area. This wine is made by their son Edoardo. The estate has a total of about twenty hectares (fifty acres), great part of which dedicated to viticulture and for a small part to olive grove. Given the small dimensions of the estate working procedures are strictly manual and the soil is cultivated using organic methods. The use of chemical substances which may be harmful to the soil, the farm workers and the environment in the last years has been first reduced and then eliminated. Vineyards are fertilized with compost and manure, but mostly the soil is managed with careful observation of the native weeds. Insect pests are reduced at a minimum through the increase of biodiversity in the vineyard: striving to protect the diversity of insect life means first and foremost eliminating the use of insecticides; Fungi and mildew diseases are kept under control by careful canopy management, and by improving the health of the soil. As regards winemaking, fermentation uses only naturally present yeasts and the good quality of the grapes at harvest time allows now reduced amounts of sulfites. The Sderci family became owner of Il Palazzino in the middle of the nineteenth century. Then in the early 1970s, Alessandro and Andrea took over management of the farm: new specialized vineyards were planted and a new, completely underground cellar was built for the fermentation and aging of the wines. La Casina Girasole is a vineyard located near the village of San Martino al Vento. The vineyard was planted in the early 1970s, but was completely renewed recently by grafting selected Sangiovese clones onto the old root stock. It enjoys a southsouthwest exposure. About 10,000 bottles are produced annually of this wine labeled as ‘Toscana, Indicazione Geografica Tipica.’ In it are mixed also the grapes from the first vintages from recently renewed vineyards, before these vines have achieved a balance and maturity capable of producing high-quality Chianti Classico.
Vinificate Amorro Cadiz Tinto 2016
Bring out the funk! Bodega Vinifícate is the personal project of José and Miguel Gómez Lucas, two brothers from Cádiz, chemists and training oenologists who in 2011 decided to start making their own wine in their land and with native varieties. Bodega Vinifícate make wines that speak of their origin, the place where the vineyard is grown, its climate and the vintage, with a craftsmanship production and utmost respect for winemaking traditions. To do so, they have a vineyard that is cultivated biodynamically, Calderín del Obispo, located in the farm Pago de Balbaína. It is planted on the typical soil of the area, “albariza” (organic and marl rock, created by the sedimentation of organisms of an inland sea, clayey-loamy soils high in calcium carbonate and very poor in organic matter). The climate is mild, southern, quite influenced by the western and eastern winds that will greatly affect the ripening of the grapes. Mahara Amorro is a wine made from Tintilla of Rota and Tempranillo, from the vineyard Calderín del Obispo, located in the famous Pago la Balbaína, inside the Jeréz triangle. The harvest is carried out manually. The grapes ferment with native yeasts and 100% of the stems, going through a semi-carbonic maceration. This wine is aged for 6 months. They do not add sulphites or any other type of oenological product. Mahara Amorro is an wild, aromatic, juicy and fresh wine. On the nose, intense aromas of red fruit and light flowery notes stand out. In the mouth, it is direct, easy to drink and very fresh. A wine that you will want more of. Tintilla de Rota, one of the first grapes ever planted in the region back in the 17th century. Unfortunately most of it was lost to phylloxera and replaced during the Sherry boom of the 20th century, to the point where it almost became extinct. Even today, there’s still very little planted which is surprising considering how well it’s adapted to the unique climate and soil of the region. The ocean influence combined with the albariza soil preserve it’s acidity throughout the maturation cycle, making for fresh Atlantic reds. They almost drink like whites given the salinity and chalky texture.
